Adron turns his focus to the indoor season now but hopes we can field a full team for next fall and compete in the team cross competition.
When your name shows up on LetsRun, you're practically famous. Same goes for a YouTube video that features you three different times. Our distinctive singlet helps a lot...Check Adron out at the start, at 6:21 and at 11:05 of this video too. Looking smooth! Adron rocked Franklin Park yesterday, finishing 24th in 25:15.

Racing is just more fun with your teammates and it's even more fun when you dominate the podium! At the Downtown 10K, the Bones cleaned up and took home $325 in winnings with Adron (32:01) and Sarah (38:33) taking 1st on each side and Jonnie (34:35) taking 2nd on the men's side. Joe was 6th in 36:34.
With temperatures warming up, we're all coming out of hibernation. Last weekend, Adron, Sarah and Todd all ran local 5Ks and all scored the win. Adron kicked it off on Saturday, running a 15:11 at the Burlington Invite Masters 5000. On Sunday, Todd won the Champlain Classic 5K for the second year in a row with a 17:04, with Sarah winning the women's side in 18:44.
Adron's making us proud and keeping our news items alive with another awesome indoor performance at the Greater Boston Track Club Invitational, held yesterday at Harvard. Adron cruised to 3rd in the Men's Invitational 800, proving that all that training on our 160 meter indoor track is paying off.
The late night UVM track sessions are paying off. Adron PRd this weekend in the 3K at Dartmouth Relays, running 8:35:54 for 5th place out of 40. Looking forward to a fast winter season from him!! Full results on Lancer Timing.
Despite dicey weather and a team-wide post race game of "did I pee or is this sweat," we enjoyed a morning together at our first USATF race. Unfortunately, because Seth was off winning alumni races in Canton and Will, Ben and Todd were "training" (we suspect sleeping), the guys team wasn't able to score. The girls team, however, is on the board with a 9th place finish despite having only 3 runners to other teams 20 to 30 runners.
Adron 53:46 with the fastest 200 at the end of a 15K, possibly ever, requiring an apology to the guys he outkicked Funch 54:55 Sarah 1:02:55 Laurel 1:08:27 Elodie 1:11:00 Onward and upward for most of us for fall races. Adron and Sarah race again next weekend, at the Essex Citizens Cross Country race and Archie Post 5 Miler respectively. Chris deserves his own sentence, as his goal race (The Lobsterman Triathlon) is next weekend. Laurel keeps her eyes on Baystate, her marathon in October and Elodie is looking forward to finally being moved into Burlington and having the time to pick her next race. We're growing! Their profiles will be added to the website soon but we are so excited to welcome Adron Pitmon and Laurel Cole to the Olde Bones Track Club.
Adron was a high school and college standout, holding the Division I 800 State Record for a time in Vermont. He just bettered his 800 PR with a post-college run of 1:52.69 at a recent Twilight Meet in Boston. Adron shows exceptional talent throughout the mid-distances and we look forward to supporting his development over the next few years. Plus, we want to stage a run-off between Adron and our resident All-American Ben, who still has the better PR at 1:52.00. Laurel is also a fellow MMU high school standout who opted out of collegiate running to move up to the half marathon and marathon distance where she shows serious promise. Laurel is a diverse runner, with strong PRs from 800 and the 1500, as well as in cross country. We suspect she'll be a competitor in USATF New England's All Terrain Runner series in 2015. Fun fact, the addition of Adron and Laurel makes three Olde Bones runners who have compartment syndrome. Interesting coincidence... |
