Erin is one of those remarkable runners who balances a full time job, an under two year old and serious training. After kicking the last few weeks off with a win at the Thursday night 3K, she won the Island Vines 10K and broke the course record, then turned it around a couple of weeks later running 4th at the Green Mountain Half Marathon on totally unrested legs. Way to go, girl!!
In an attempt to remind themselves why they no longer run in circles, Erin and Myke toed the line for the last Mini Meet of the season hosted by GMAA. Erin rocked the 3K in 11:30 and Myke ran the 800 in 2:13, moving up from about 8th with 400 to go to just getting edged for the win. Mature racing at its finest!
The fact that I'm just getting around to writing this in September isn't a particularly accurate reflection of how long Erin has been running with Olde Bones. She reached out a year ago and we've spent a lot of time on the roads together since then.
Erin ran cross country and track for Elizabethtown College in PA. After college, she worked as an Assistant Coach for her team as she made her way into the post-collegiate world. Flash forward a few years through graduate school, a move to Vermont and the birth of her daughter Lillian and Erin is back on the roads again. Whip fast at the 5K/10K distance, Erin's focus right now is on the half marathon and she's considering Philly for the late fall. Another Vermont City Marathon is in the books! Ben posted the fastest Olde Bones time of the day at 3:04:59. LT planned to run it as as training run for her upcoming 50K but felt pretty good and snuck in a PR of 3:21:41. Erin debuted in 3:48:11 and although she claims it wasn't her favorite experience, we're all proud of her first effort at the distance after a rough few weeks of training towards the end. |
